I just happened to notice this quick bit of Pynchon humor on the ONION
NEWS NETWORK show on IFC, which runs before Portlandia.

This is from the “Fifth Anniversary” show, which aired last Friday Feb 11 2011.

This is Onion News Anchor Brooke Alvarez' offhanded comments after a
news segment about teenagers:

“Scary what kids can get into these days. Reminds me of what my
husband, Thomas Pynchon, is always saying: A young body will ramble
until it hits the wet brick and wakes up bloody-nosed in a faded
skin.”

morn) on IFC movie channel, at 3:15 am Eastern/2:15 am central.
