Chapr 15 on going to Malta

Please forgive if this has been posted already, esp you Michael B.
if you did while recently reading Hitch-22. Or others who have read it.

I have the book and Hitch tells of his earliest memory--on a boat (in 1952) to
Malta---Valleta, "a place of the two-edged sword between the Christian and 
Muslim worlds."

"Its population is so overwhelmingly Roman Catholic that there are, within the 
walled city, a great 
plethora of ornate churches....the island withstood one of the longest sieges in 
the history of
"Christendom"...[but] the Maltese language is the only Semitic language to be 
written in a Latin script."
In a Maltese RC mass, the priest calls on 'Allah".......

Only Ishmael survived in Moby Dick. P makes a prediction here about surviving 
the wasteland of 50s America?
