Quiet, It's like the shuttle at 5 PM.---[B]
No. Nothing at all is happening here.---[S]
So what year is it. --[B] [No question mark]
It is 1913, said Stencil.---[WTF?]
Why not, said Profane.   

next chapter begins in 1913 BUT, as written, Stencil's
use is an allusion, yes?  That the scene in the park is
what 1913 was..[?]

What a curious image to describe the sound of the stream in Central Park:
like a glass chandelier in an unheated wintry drawing room---in which all
the heat is turned off suddenly and forever.....

Now, take 1913.............and explicate the metaphor........................
