(If it was a long 'a' (like in you people's Immanuel 'Can't'), there's
nearly always either an 'h' behind the 'a' - take "Kahn" or "Bahn" - or
a double vowel like in "Saal", "Aal" or "Paar; an exception would be "Tal".)
Examples à la Kant/Cunt: "Pfand", "Sand", "Hand", "Wand", "Land" ...
The special thing about names in general is that wrong pronounciation of
them could be considered as rude in a personal way.
