back once more

I'm a relative new-born, but that's because I am new to computers. I
read CoL 49 in '86 and have been a Pynchon junkie since. This list has
revealed a lot of new angles I would not otherwise have discovered as
a non-academic print luddite. I went back to school for a while, but
am not certain, now, whether I can make it back to finish my MA, given
the economic climate. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. Still
learning things about a great writer and some others.

"Less than any man have I  excuse for prejudice; and I feel for all
creeds the warm sympathy of one who has come to learn that even the
trust in reason is a precarious faith, and that we are all fragments
of darkness groping for the sun. I know no more about the ultimates
than the simplest urchin in the streets." -- Will Durant
