In your mail account be sure to select "plain text" as your preferred
format for outgoing messages, and make sure "reply in same format as
sender" is not checked. Whenever something is copied and pasted from a
website it overrides the chosen format and sends gobbledegook. No way
around that except to type everything out.

I don't really know what causes some of some people's messages and all of other people's to have garbage, but most of us could stand to be a little careful. Maybe someone whose messages always come through in clear (including the parts recycled from messages that were originally full of garbage!) could give us some tips.
