I think it's entirely possible that it is Slothrop who is being touched 
by Dumpster's shit.

And it may be that still another REVERSAL is in play.  In life outside 
the toilet (or is it a dream) Dumpster himself may have "touched" 
Slothrop for money (in Pynchon associated with shit). D is now returning 
the favor, touching Slothrop with shit (money).

It's getting complicated.
