Mark, hope you feel better. remember that old commercial, "a summer
cold is a different animal"? it was from the late 60s and there was
this weird looking animal loping and lurking around, and maybe
"Contac" was the OTC remedy recommended
It may not work for everyone but that effervescent vitamin c powder,
emergen-c or generic, knocks out every attempt I have to catch a cold,
which is kind of annoying since it means I haven't had an excuse to
call in sick and lie around reading with a twisted kleenex up my nose,
for a couple years
that Peter Drucker reminiscence I read recently had a thing about how
the Communists were at least as bad as the McCarthyites in terms of
blacklisting people and nipping careers in the bud and so forth, he
gives a few examples.
that party a couple chapters back, that was at somebody's apartment,
but the epicenter of it was the lady with the publishing connections
who was enlisting people for some political party - which would pretty
much be the Communist one, given the context, no?
Otto sidles away from that, doesn't want to pay the two dollars.
Wyatt's primary engagement is with religion and art and woolgathering,
I haven't seen any sign that he has any political consciousness
whatever!
