'read' should read "heard"...she told me the whole story more connectedly
than I usually write....as this proves again...

She, by the way, acting the dutiful daughter by politely listening a
couple-three times to me talk about
Pynchon---when I had run out of other things to talk about-----
named my grandson Jackson without a hint of Jackson Pynchon........

My daughter recently saw a high school production of Carnival, a 1961
Broadway musical that has not had a major revival since---and no movie.
(Optioned,

died)

We know how the whole concept of Carnivale pervades Pynchon's work. I think of
Zamboni (The Magnificent?) and Merle's wife running off with him
from Against The Day, when I read of that plotline....

I think of P's riffing words on love/the erotic making the whole world turn (In
V.) when I read
about the song "Love Makes the World go Round".
