a) a backing away from kneejerk reactions in both directions...
b) a list of Pynchon killing and near-killing scenes
c) a duo of possible Pynchon meets bin Laden scenarios

all pretty brief.  I'm conceding that I have in the past rambled and
ranted and raved, and willing to abandon the topic* (and asking for
future helpful feedback which will be heeded) but I'm actually pretty
happy with the above -

* although in part b I left out the clearly most analogous example:

 Frenesi killing Weed.

Frenesi is sympathetic to the left rebellion taking over the campus
and yet she gets the gun to the guy who will give Weed the gun!  Not
without many afterthoughts, and of course a lot of PREPping by Vond!

Pynchon, let's hypothesize, is sympathetic to the 3rd world and anti-
the fascist tendencies of *some aspects* of American capitalism, yet
we all suspect (at least, I do) that he'd participate in giving Osama
the gun in certain circumstances that are not too hard to imagine (not
without some afterthoughts, not without PREPping)

and so would I, although honestly I think I might be just a little
more reluctant, and with no military experience at all, less likely to
be posed with the situation
