The Jewish-American novel after Bellow & Roth

Call It Sleep is an absolutely incredible novel.   One of my all-time favorites -  and I read it in 1971 or something like that.   I think Henry Roth was prior even to Bellow.  

Did you say a "graphic novelist or two"?   So you mention Spiegelman for the first one,  and I'll pipe up with Will Eisner for the second.
