Totally appreciate these insights.

I have seen a lot of Polanski but not "Repulsion".
"Red Shoes" sounds great esp in light of "All About Eve" reference.
which I have seen.

"Pi"'s paranoia dovetails nicely with one of Pynchon's themes.

Heck I forgot about "Cask of Amontillado"
"For the love of God, Montressor!"
Man that guy was one crazy SOB.

I wonder if Darren Aronovsky will ever do comedies?

 i think black swan is the female version of Pi's male protagonist

 the path to perfection is wonder; the attainment of it is madness

I was thinking of Black Swan as a contemporary Edgar Allan Poe
narrative displaying one's schizophrenic break down.

Black Swan = The Red Shoes + All about Eve + Repulsion + The Fly
>>> (Cronenberg) + Fight Club
