Come to think of it, "divided self" was probably a very poor choice of 
words, since that was the title of R. D. Laing's first essay. I didn't 
mean to imply our author was in any way psychotic or paranoid, even in 
the sense that Laing later come to see things.

It's  the fiction that I'm interested in.  Systems fail, ideologies 
fail, missions fail, we all fail.

To think otherwise is a paranoid delusion of Them.

Still there is Hope.
