The Town of cats' other major symbol is the tower......Some Golden Bough, some spin
on belief and worship and even Lord of the Flies without the horror....but some same spin,
via cats....................????

I'll go along with most of what the reviewer has to say, particularly
the jarring nature of unreality and the power of logic and language
when separated from reality. (Keep the government's hands off of my
medicare!)

When the novel was announced, I wanted to know "When will the talking
cat appear?".

Of course, they show up in a story within a story, almost as a
self-parody, with a character lost in an unreality.
