Egan? Man, the Goon Squad, while decent, didn't live up to all the praise that finally compelled me to read it. I'll reread IV before picking up it again and not simply because the paperback of Egan's novel fell a part in my hands. I just didn't come away thinking that I was glad I picked up the book rather than some other.
