2011 NATIONAL BOOK AWARD FINALISTS ANNOUNCED

Very disappointing -- I didn't know the National Book Award was a prize for first novel. Three of the novels are first novels, and a fourth is technically a second novel, but the writer's previous novel was a "Young Adult" book. The National Book Award has really gotten off track in the last couple of years -- Lord of Misrule was terrible.
