GR translation: clusters of blue dissonance

Growing up in Pittsburgh when they still made steel, there is a process known as 'bluing steel' which toughens
it to preserve it from rust....which would fit nicely into the overtones of the shelter part of the line.
 
And, speaking of blue notes, they can be played on a trademarked "Blue Steel" tm guitar, but I do not know
how far back that trademark goes....
 
And I remember from my rereading of 1984 that blue is a stressed bad shit color in 1984.....
the uniform of the 'authorities'/cops
 
this is how pynchon is like Shakespeare--and other greats. He finds so many resonances with
so many word/image choices........................
