GR translation: social eye

I find the passage exceedingly murky, but one additional thing does 
occur me.  Mediums, acting as mediums, don't really have a mind's eye. 
Their own minds are blank.  What they might be said to "have" are the 
mind's eyes of the various spirits "across the wall" with whom they have 
made (allowed) contact.  So another term for "social eye" might be 
"collective eye."
