GR translation: her glassy wastes

There is irony in the fact that scholars of Pynchon (the Pynchon
Industry) have, as they advance their readings, too often denied,
rejected, corrected, mis-read,  the readings of others. GR is, on one
level, a celebration of Earth and its incredible diversity, and this
includes the plurality of human ideas. How does the text mean?  A good
example of this kind of analysis is Weisenburger's "Hysteron Proteron
in GR."
