A helpful plister pointed out offline that I got heidegger's major title wrong. It is Sein Und Zeit not 
Dasein which, as TRP kept consistent with the remark in English in AtD is:
 
"Dasein would be the being for whom being is a question."
 
Point still the same....

p. 533 again. Further reflections. 
"Does that mean we only imagine now that we exist?"  The question that founding father of modern
philosophy, Descartes, he of the scorned Cartesian grid and ultra linearity asked which some such as
Moore and Wittgenstein,who refuted it by basically saying WTF....if you have to ask, you are asking
the wrong question......

and then there's the set of parallels of mathematicians to writers -
Hamilton likened to Swinburne (535)



Yeah, those maths conceits work overtime, as often, yes?    \

Some of my glossing:
Quaternions deal with 'the imaginary". They added the fourth term,
"assigned to Time.Time can now be 'used', we no longer simply live in it. They invent
the deadly Q-Bomb.
Because they now can, that charge levelled against so much
science.....Think of the vision of increased velocity which is 'bad shit' in TRP,this book. 
I suggest TRP (mostly) scores the whole Quaternion  thrust---a metaphoric example of modernity.

"Face it. The Kampf ums Dasein is over and we have lost."
"Yes, Q-Brother....your own struggle should be called a Kampf oops Dasein."
Some pretty clear allusions here, yes?

And "the Gibbs-Heaviside Bolsheviks"......are a branch of the
VEctorists......clearly linked  to Cartesian grids and "the establlishment of 
"a single Established Coordinnate System"....
'"the inevitable future--[see revolutionary Marxist claims]--"present
everywhere in the universe"......[Cartesian grid world as we largely have
in developed societies]

This branch, violent Anarchists, use the maths of the world for their ends.
The excluded middle, so to interpretively speak, are Vectorists without such agendas.........
