Gibson on TP

So William Gibson was in Bilbao and I went to see him. I'll save you the report and evaluation and merely relate what most already suspect. WG said, "I got my vitamins of paranoia from TP not PKD".
Oh, he also mentioned that he was in the preliminary stages of a new book that is not set in the present but neither is it a historical novel. Hmm. Kind of sounds familiar, no?
Afterwards he was good enough to walk among the fans for which he was rewarded by being asked to sign copies of books people had just bought. Some guy forced poor Bill into having his photo taken with the guy. It made me think of how little I would like the experience. Yes, I did approach him but just to say thanks and wish him well. No photos or autographs.

ps WG claims that he failed to consider mobile phone technology when he wrote Neuromancer, adding that "mobiles phones would have been a problem, too much dialogue."
