She sounds more like she's referring to
the author than to Hafcourt, which might
help to explain her abiliity to tunnel thru
walls, and might even occur to her in
brief moments of transcendence while she's
contemplating Reimann. Just conjecturin'...
Hafcourt picked her up on sale at the
market. He knew she had value, and he was
generally kind. He shopped her to TWIT for, ?.
It's not clear, but certainly they felt she had
value. Her talents lay elsewhere (no pun),
however. Good for her.
For her part, she had no qualms about
seducing Cyprian into helping her out of a
jam, at great risk to himself, when things
went sour with TWIT. Of course, he being
all about self-sacrifice, that turned out to be
right up his street- for awhile, until he began
taking his own preservation more seriously,
and what that might entail. (no...)
I think she forms a counterpoint to the
suppressed femininity of Dally, especially
as "Beppo" in Dally's year on the streets of
Venice.
Yash, Dally, Stray..., they're all about the
connection between the three Traverse bros.,
like the rationality that collects the three iterations
of Leptons into the standard model. Unlike
Lake, the anti-Traverse brother.
