I definitely hope so, David.
But you cannot make a rule out of Welles' proposition, nicely put as
it is, out of the moment. Think of Germany 1933-45: a cultural
wasteland if there ever was one.
Perhaps that's the biggest difference between Russia under Lenin and
Stalin and Germany under/with the Nazis.
