p.948-949 'from "Slim's farm, ...thru...all carrying at least one rifle, all known locally, and called out to, by
their diminutives"......nice, nice and the farm folk of a 'folk society' per social scientists...
p. 949..."The farmhouse was teeming with children, whough when Cyprian actually counted, there were never
more than two."
A beautiful line to me....like how a non-Tolstoyan "realist" of a later century captures the fact of active children irrealistically.
(Remember the kids in the opening of Anna Karenina?)
And "from the very first moment her eyes were enormously given to all the world around her".....we (fall in) love through our
eyes, wrote Plato.....and new life grasps and loves the world thru them.....(I've recently noticed the wide hungry eyes of a newborn)
I love this too....
TRP, dad and noticer of kids.........
