Not picking on the curious who find us; i.e. you. There have been, however, people surfing for ideas they couldn't come up with on their own. And coming back for seconds and thirds.

I'll claim the position of dull-witted high school student (perhaps one step below dull-witted undergrad?). Though I am decidedly not using you all for a paper, just to satisfy some intellectual curiosity (though, admittedly, I usually understand about half of what goes on). But, hey, like I said, high school. I'll come back in a few years when hopefully my thoughts are a bit more developed and have a bit more perspective. Just thought you should know at least one member of not only academia, but also the next generation is listening, even if she's not contributing.

I think we're mostly nonacademics, not that that has kept the occasional dull-witted undergrad from coming here and trying to get us to help with a paper.

if I had the good fortune to be employed in academia, I would save my best stuff for classes and papers and so forth.
still, one hopes they might find an odd moment for the discussion...
