Concert, redux

The recent death of Ravi Shankar, the 12-12-12 concert for sandy relief,
and the undeniability of change: climate, consciousness and
connectivity,
can't help but bring me back to the mother of all relief concerts, held
on August 1, 1971:

I was 20, home for the summer from college, working the night shift at
Paterson Canning Co. It had rained for 5 straight days, and much of
Paterson
was flooded, and there was this concert, George Harrison and Friends,
being
held across the river. I had to work (natch), just like I had to- at
the same place-
during Woodstock, two summers earlier. But the spirit seeped through, no
matter where you were, it seemed.

Could be happening again. Maybe just some unfinished bizness comin' home
to roost.
