war only makes the peace more difficult to reach and keep.
 war shifts power about so that those who  end up negotiating a peace are
in a position to dictate its terms.
this, in and of itself, is a sin. the position america finds itself in, to
shift power with war, even when such shifting has no advantage to america,
now or in the negotiated peace, is not one other nations envy. but
exceptionalism does not allow the usa to act as china or as russia acts.
itz not easy being america. maybe we should give up on the idea.
