I am absolutely, totally fuckin shocked that you, Laura, who I've always had the greatest admiration for, would publickly denounce one of the greatest gifts to American screen of his generation, the immortal Nicholas Cage.   Don't get me wrong, Bale's a good actor, Cage is a greater actor, one of the greatest.  It goes Brando, then...then...well I won't get into listing it would take all morning, but Bale's way fucking lower than Cage, because Cage is way high, up there.


And Maligned, saying Cage is unwatchable?  Calls herself Maligned, but cannot watch he who is most-maligned?  Especially for a Pychonhead.  Cage was custom built for Pynchonland.  To diss him on a Pynchonboard is unconscionable, if that's a word, I'm not getting redlined so I feel good about it.

Christian Bale may be an asshole and/or have psychiatric issues, but he's one of the most brilliant actors of our times.  I'd love to see him play Tesla.  I'm less enthusiastic about Cage, but I'm willing to see him bungle Edison so long as Bale's in the film.
