Turns out that the things of the Gospels mimick or reflect things of the Torah, or at least they have Jesus's life paralleling Moses?  So you have for example:

There was a whole strain of medieval exegesis based on such parallels, which were regarded as evidence for sacred patterns in history. Dryden uses.the tradition in Absalom and Achitophel.
