Which is, of course, true.  However, Everything That Rises Must Converge, is pretty terrific, as is any collection of Alice Munro's you care to peruse.  And Collected Stories of John Cheever and Faulkner -- The Unvanquished. And, of course, Chekhov and Borges.  And Kafka.
