I ordered this novel and also just released Wichita at the same time.
Started Wichita first but it seemed a little slow paced for my mood so I
turned to Gone Girl. Wow, this author can move fast. Both books have a
Middle West setting--Missouri and Kansas, respectively--but the central
characters are displaced Manhattanites returning home. And the Heartland
isn't exactly what East Coasters might expect, or West Coasters either.
(not sure that last has as much meaning for Gone Girl as for Wichita but
some)
