And, to answer the question I asked a week or two ago. No, Oakley Hall did not study under Wallace Stegner.
His natural talent was shaped by the Iowa Writers' School, like so many.
Wikipedia says that when Stegner died, Oakley was then seen as the dean of Western writers (or Western teachers of)
