Speaking of more tangential Pynchon themes

Oh, this is hil*ar*ious.  I came across a list of all the peoples who
have/had Deluge myths.  250 different societies total, more than 500 total
myths.  None of them French!  They couldn't be bothered.  Of the Europeans:

Druids, Germans, Greeks, Gypsies, Icelanders, Laplanders, Lithuanians,
Norse, Romans, Slavs, Voguls, Welsh.

Over in Afrika, the Hottentots have one (at least).
