Subject: it might N be P, dreaming
I have always thought that dreams just continue on one endless narrative, in fact even that we dream still while we are conscious; that may be true, but I have come to realize that it's not an endless stream. Any given dream may be singular and in itself, by story; but different stories, that is, each dream, repeats itself, again and again. The thing is, not exactly. Only the stories repeat. I suppose you might say the meaning, or even meanings, supposing at least that those may be counted on one hand, they repeat. If you dream long enough without interruption, they will begin again, only differently....
What are the best dreams in Pynchon? What are the best dreams in literature? Not including Eddie DeVere, he's out.
