I've thought Kafka, Murakami, and of course Freud were good on dreams. On the tube, The Sopranos did an excellent job (I thought) a coupla different times with dreams, most memorably, in my mind, when Tony Soprano dreams he's at the shore, at a fish market, and one of the fish tells him something that he knows but hasn't been able to admit to himself. And then of course the guns come out.
