The Incidences of the phrase "Iceland Spar" in AtD - II

Visited my local Iceland Spar at my local musuem today. Turned the polarizing of light wheel
and saw the images twain. Just sayin'.....

yes, as metaphor for both at once, one invisible at a time, is what I most see....

saw that.  enjoyed it.  I remember I agreed with it, liked it.

Unfortunately can't quote it, actually would not mind if you did
repost it if you have it handy.  I have to go to dinner, but later
tonight I'll try to find it in the archive.

It's even quite possible that your mention inspired my effort to some
degree.  Hope that's ok!?  I don't think I redundantly retrod any of
the ground that you covered or expressed anything contradictory or
disrespectful of your views - if so I'll publicly retract and/or
ameliorate any such damages to the best of my ability!

my plan is to briefly touch all 15 mentions of Iceland Spar and share
the thoughts they awaken in me, although my interest in the "Pearl"
passage isn't exhausted by its part in that current plan.

I consider the passage a touchstone, and hope to touch it again on
occasion in a different context as suits the inspiration of the
moment.

...like Doc Emmens, pounding away at his argentaurum, i happily
revisit the text, and, sure, your commentaries (and those of Mark -
who's gotten me to pull AtD off the shelf a lot recently -- et
numerous al) ----- if the metaphorical Iceland Spar is likened to
mind, you're looking through a different crystal of it than I am, and
it's possible I will see the gold and silver better by an acquaintance
with your views...

btw, I am too chicken to take psilo.  Tried some of that "legal pot" a
year or two ago and ended up forgetting an overtime shift I'd signed
up for at work.  It was a pretty good buzz, but I can't pay that
freight.

maybe when I retire I can have a mushroom garden tho (something else
to hope we survive 2012 for...)
