Silence drives stations crazy.  SILENT SENSORS GO OFF WHEN THERE IS 6O SECONDS OF SILENCE.  MANAGEMENT GETS AUTOMATED PHONE CALLS TELLING THEM THEY ARE OFF THE AIR......"no audio on kdka."  The calls continue until there is audio of some sort playing.  Everyone runs around going, "what the fuck?"




There was a John Cage-like counteradvertisement, so to speak, on The Rush Limbaugh
Show today: 5 minutes, 33 seconds of silence.  
 
70some of 80some spots on his show today filled with public service announcements and
at least two of those who have them on his show have said no more. 
 
39 sponsors gone....1 (one) left in NY market, I hear. 
 
Pentagon sez Rush to troops not cancelled..........(yet?)
