Well I'm not the media and don't base my ideas on the NYT, AJ, NPR, Guardian or other mainstream news sources I use. My problem with the Democrats is not that they are left wing. My problem is that they used a false flag incident in the Gulf of Tonkin  to start one of the most horrible bombing campaigns in history to prove they are flag waving heroes defending the US from the advancing hordes of Vietnamese peasants who somehow threatened America; my problem is that they failed to learn from that debacle and supported a war against Iraq killing over a million Iraqis because they might have still had some of the nasty stuff we gave them to attack Iran. My problem is with the roll back of Glass Steagall under Clinton. my problem is with Obama signing the NDAA gutting habeas corpus and due process and effectively the provisions against cruel and unusual punishment.  More in the list of moral equivalencies:  Drones, punishment of whistleblowers, non punishment for the rape of female soldiers, no punishment for the torture, murder and sodomizing of Muslim prisoners, no action on climate change, promotion of fracking despite the science, putting Goldman and Citi bank people in charge of Treasury. I could go on for awhile but it gets old fast.
Dick Cheney has publicly approved of Obama's policies in the Persian Gulf region, but  some say there is no equivalency. Is there an important distinction for those our soldiers kill? In fact Afghans are more united in wanting us out than under Bush. 
  I am not alone in my analysis. Glenn Greenwald, Scott Horton, Chris Hedges, Naomi Klein, and some others have similar analyses.
