(np) Trayvon Williams tragedy

In any violent death with a confessed killer in hand, isn't that
killer generally held pending investigation unless that confessed
killer is employed by the government, such as when a cop kills a kid,
etc? Why is Zimmerman on the hoof? I'm no lawyer, that's sure enough,
but are civilian shooters generally allowed to walk?

trust in reason is a precarious faith, and that we are all fragments
of darkness groping for the sun. I know no more about the ultimates
than the simplest urchin in the streets." -- Will Durant
