That "Lost" was Cof Lot49 enlarged, & island-changed and more scattered ?

Since half the twenty three people on this list are in NYc.
There's a cafe/bar on Sullivan between 4th and Bleeker I liked to go to write, or wanted to, good place, but ultimately too many NYU students studying there. One time a lady sitting at the bar watching Lost on her laptop, with earphones. Engaged. Drinking a latte. If it was wine I might have asked to join her. "So what's going on in the Lostworld these days?" And I dated a woman briefly who lived in a very civilized pad in Park Slope. The second time she invited me over to watch Lost. This is when I realized that Lost could really captivate people. The next time she invited me to a dinner party at which we all played Risk. I preferred that to Lost. Is anyone here like me, never lost a game of Risk? There was that one time...but that doesn't count. How would Pynchon play Risk? Also the smartest person I know apparently was a Lostlover.

I'm about as fanatical fan of Lost as one can get. I've watched the first 5 seasons 6 times (the horrible 6th season only twice). I think there's a lot in the series that would appeal to Pynchon fans - moral ambiguity, lots of great sci-fi aspects, humor, and just general coolness. Like many of the fans who were attracted to the sci-fi part of the show, I was horrified, yes, horrified, by the 6th season, which started out reasonably enough with an apparent alternate reality plot, but, midway, descended into a sentimental Oxygen-channel cross between Touched By An Angel and Finder of Lost Loves. There were far too many fans who apparently loved the finale. They labelled those of us who hated it as rigid, by-the-book hicks who demanded pat answers for everything. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I was psyched for ambiguity, but was handed Jesus Lite instead. I don't think the series was damaged beyond repair by the finale, which was irrelevant, rather than ambiguous. Still a True Believer, I'm hoping for the SciFi channel or Netflix or anyone to create a new show: The Dharma Initiative - The Early Years. For anyone who hasn't seen it, I'd highly recommend the first 5 seasons. The end of the fifth season provides as much closure as you'll get from the series.
You brought it up, Mark. Sorry for the fangirl gushing.
