Jung and the Humanities

Has anyone else ever wondered why Freud and Jung have been adopted by the humanities and Emil Kraeplin hasn't? Freud and Kraeplin were contemporaries working in a similar field, yet I'm sure most people that can talk Oedipus and collective unconscious know little or nothing about Kraeplin. Given that Kraeplin is more important for modern psychiatry, shouldn't  people from the human sciences give up these relics?.
