You're right.  The blurb on Amazon says only through 1964.  So the great society, Vietnam, late life, still to come.  This happened with volume 2 which Caro ended up devoting, against his initial plan, to the senate race against Coke Stevenson.

Sorry. Er, sorry? Not the last -- the new volume only takes LBJ up to assuming the presidency. Once again, Caro alters the plan and extends the project -- he's in his mid-70s now and I despair of him finishing. It's certainly one of the greatest projects of American biography ever.

The fourth and last volume of Robert Caro's   biography of Lyndon Johnson available May 1.  I'd put this -- the entire   four volumes -- in the top ... five? -- not only of history, but literature in   the last fifty years.
