Reading Oakley Hall's Warlock for the first time. About halfway through at the scene where Carl Schroeder is dying and there are these lines that Dylan must have read while working on Billy the Kid about the long black clouds coming down. Good read as many have said. I have a sense that Pynchon was influenced by the way Hall handles Character with mostly words and action. And the way he revisits history and deconstructs mythic figures. Actually one senses a powerful overall influence.
