I'd never thought of Cuneiform, yet it does bear a similarity, except
for the circular handle of the horn.  But the similarity is the result
of the triangular shape of the stylus pressing into the clay, forming
the horn shape, essentially giving a direction to the marks, the start
of the line.  A "formal" connection, but w/o content.  BTW, I'm not a
COL49'er either.

For me the muted horn has deeper resonances, a secret signal, a
whisper, a clarion kept low.

But the very minimalism/abstraction of the sign does invite other resemblances.
