in a nutshell --
why shouldn't these people - goldman, sachs, those dudes - why
shouldn't they feel proud of themselves?
if you met them on some neutral turf, both willing to talk and
consider what the other person said - which is hard to imagine...could
you convince them? or would they end up convincing you?
and...quite a bit harder still -- what do we want them to do instead,
in the real world, starting from where we are now, without resorting
to dreamsville...
- and just to deal with the sort of 3rd party here, if the ows is the
party of the 1st part, and the 1% the party of the 2nd part, then the
theorists would be the 3rd party...
and when life has devolved for the 1st party down to simply trying to
subsist - which really isn't much of a party
and for the 2nd party, they can't remember how to anything but predate
and gloat - not really that much fun, when you rig the game, to shoot
fish in a barrel or draw from a deck completely stacked...gee i'm so
talented, i used bribery and chicanery to overbill a municipality for
their sewers, or took a bunch of goodpaying jobs away from people who
really needed them --- once in awhile the people who do this probably
realize how much they suck...
the 3rd party, these theorists, who are able to string a bunch of
words together and still get something from it that seems to exude a
feeling like the simple healthy rush of "man this is cool" which the
1st and 2nd party have lost track of...
umm, where was i going with this?...oh yeah, the fact that the ows is
the group to turn to the theorists is maybe kind of hopeful...
