15 Scathing Early Reviews of Classic Novels

When the game's up why bother? There are literally thousands of great writers being read. Maybe the stats don't show it but someone somewhere is reading an obscure novel. Maybe there was such a need before to rally the defenses proclaiming one's chosen one or deflecting the arrows of potential suitors. 
In the end, the critics don't seem to be really needed when there literally thousands of them
