Sportello was a pretty amazing transition. Who would've guessed that 
the next pov would be a psychedelic detective? On the other hand, there 
seems to be a fairly direct connection between the concepts of grace 
and inherent vice.

I wouldn't mind a Sportello series, either, but I wish he would quit 
smoking, at least cigarettes- maybe consider using some condoms.

no rancor intended, but geez, pynchon without the whatever, ah heck 
write yer own book the way you like it! 
 
that said, i wouldn't mind a series of doc sportello novels...
