Franzen and Pynchon

Franzen is a wonderful author, of fiction and prose. I find his
confusion and honest mishaps, his foolish stabs at the ghosts of his
better devils a positive development, not something he has to get
over, but that he may and  the fact that he continues his strong
misreadings may be viewed as a sign of greater things to come. Maybe.
Who knows. He hastwo big advantages over the others, he is both alive
and young. Oh, and he can buy a $30,000 handbag and not put up with
the racial profiling the O was recently subjected to.
