That's how Benny Profane began his intercessory efforts with Ploy, who was
suicidal, by referring to that joke, which I haven't heard in its entirety
either, 'tis pity...
As to Heidegger, well, Sartre joined the French Resistance - there wasn't
really any German Resistance for Heidegger to join, was there?
I liken - probably inaccurately - how one might feel if you were really
stoned and wanted to just chill but your friends all wanted to go to the
football game...that's how I picture Heidegger feeling, watching the game,
once in awhile going rah rah, but if you knew him you could tell he'd
rather have been at home
