Zorba t Greek, wow well they picked through the old lady's belongings,
because they loved her and wanted to have something of hers to remember,
and they gambled for Jesus's clothing also.

If that kind of affection can be felt for a company maybe it can be a
person in some kind of way. I mean quite honestly for many of us, companies
supply a lot of bricks for Maslow's pyramid of needs and the gratitude I
still feel for that - and not just for that, but for shape and structure,
overarching meaning and a venue - is a personal feeling greater than the
sum of the parts of the feelings towards coworkers, who can be problematic,
or understandable animosity for the execs who seem sometimes like reckless
drivers ejecting passengers willy nilly, even as they emit optimism and
call for teamwork.

Even as a temp there's a certain Gemutlichkeit toward the employing entity,
though a reluctance to commit may be present on both parts. So if after the
dissolution there's a swift return of the formerly oppressed, could be it's
more than scavenging, although that plays a part, but a shot at carrying on
- or carrying away a piece of - something that was perceived as
worthwhile...

I mean Zorba wasn't about market-driven automatons, but about emotions &
such - Driscoll's eminent likeability's apparent from this reference. Imho.

in Zorba's world I think he warns his young bud that destruction follows in
his wake...his passion, is it incompatible with smooth corporate
functioning? Zorba wasn't a caring or compassionate foreman btw - his
management style resembles that of many startups with excessive demands and
promises...yet people responded to his energy, his zest, and tended to
forgive somewhat the magnificent failure of his venture...which was
something to do with logs and rivers, which reminds me of Brock Vond's
analogy of the protestors as logjams that had to be broken up so that
something - I don't think he details exactly what - could flow

It's fortuitous, or serendipitous, in the wake of BE, that the literal
hashslingers are agitating for higher wages in the usa now...

This probably isn't where you were going with all the theory, though.
